London NYE fireworks boat trip - anyone done it?

Following on from another thread about London NYE fireworks.

I did London nye fireworks as a late teen and loved it. Hectic but fun and a great atmosphere. I have always wanted to go back one year but know in my early 50s I’m not sure I fancy the crush.

Anyway, I recently got given a surprise £1,000 which is to be spent on something fun rather than practical. I was wondering about taking DH and me on a boat trip on the Thames for the NYE fireworks, probably next year.

Has anyone done it? Tickets vary from £250-400 each depending on what you do so it’s a lot of money and we would have to stay somewhere so the whole £1,000 would definitely be used up.

Any thoughts or experiences would be really helpful. Thank you!

I always think NYE is best spent with friends/family, but if you're sociable then why not? I imagine you'll get a great view of the fireworks, which are spectacular.

It does sound good but I just wonder if reality would be as good. Trips vary but most include a decent dinner and the boat trip and promise a good view of the fireworks.

Ive done the NYE on the south bank and loved it. If I had the money, I would do it by river in a heartbeat!
