Have u seen this film? I have just watched it and what struck me was, how this very articulate man, the head student doctor in his university. He had a very gorgeous, amazing fiancé. That really loved him. He had everything going for him and yet he turned out to be a psycho killer, who liked collecting women's underwear, who were escorts, etc off Craigslist.
The film never told us why he did this he didn't give any reasons as yo why. He was popular to which when a profiler thought he would be a loner was wrong.
It makes you think that folk judge killers rapists etc as loners weirdos but this man wasn't he was handsome. He as I say was popular and folks were really shocked.
So is this upbringing, is a psycho in the brain when developing as a baby etc.
What is it?
Plus I think we need to stop thinking that the strange men are the issue as it seems you can't tell

In case I didn't make it clear it's based on true story

I watched it yesterday. I think the reason we don't know why he did it was because he killed himself before standing trial.

Yes but looking at his background his parents were professional i know they divorced . It looked like he was a sex addict tho

He was a sex addict, a gambler and loved power over women. The second he was about to come face to face with strong men he killed himself.

I haven't seen the film, but are you asking what causes psychopathy? I think there is mounting evidence that psychopaths are born with a slightly different neural network, that in itself is not enough to produce a fully functioning psycho, but then add in an abusive / neglectful/ bullying environment and the gun, as they say, is fired. His parents may have been professional, but behind close doors there may have been abuse, he may have had bulling at school in his early years.
There was a fascinating documentary on psychopaths by an American psychiatrist. He looked at various MRI scans of the brain, and you could see a frontal lobe anomaly in those who exhibited psycho pathological tendencies. That anomaly was likely there at birth, but then an environmental stimuli turned on the psycho behaviour. There is still a lot we don't understand though, and a lot more research is needed.
Lack of empathy/ emotional intelligence and a desire for power / control is never going to be a good combination.

Not what you've asked but the music in the film is so weird! It reminds me of one of those low budget Christmas films.
