Urgent food safety question!!

To avoid giving anybody food poisoning…
I am cooking a whole chicken and chopped up some carrots to put in the same roasting tin. The chicken isn’t yet fully cooked but just checked on it as the carrots were looking slightly urrmmm….. overdone…. So I have removed the carrots but my question is, are they safe to eat considering they have come from the same juices/roasting tin as an undercooked chicken? Thanks!

I would think they'd be fine. What comes out of the chicken is melted fat, which will be thoroughly heated.

Nope - still a chance of bacteria being present in the cooking juices. I am fairly lax about this kind of stuff but I would be cooking the carrots further once removed from the roasting tin.

@iremembersnappedandfarted ahh I thought this too. Back in the oven covered with foil to ovoid further browning?

Put the carrots under the chicken.

@eurochick yes next time I will do just that!
