Pepto Bismol - can not find this stuff anywhere.

For years I used Pepto for my chronic IBS and very unpredictable digestive issues. It always worked so well, Boots also used to offer their own version of the pink gloop which again helped me so much. I have tried endless products over the years but this was the only one which would help ease both my upper and lower gut issues.

However the products just vanished off the shelves around 4/5 years ago. Pharmacies would tell me it was discontinued so I contacted the company around 3 years ago, they told me there was a manufacturing issue and it would be back in the UK later that year, that never happened. I notice when googling today it says it should have been back on the shelves this summer but again that doesn't seem to have happened.

It is till widely available in the US.

Has anyone managed to get hold of any in the UK?

No, tbh regardless of what the manufacturer told it I don't think it will ever come back to the UK now. We've lost the shelf space for it, and a lot of people have forgotten about it.

I order mine from the US (use the tablet form)

It's the only thing that works for me so I suck up the postage costs (tend to buy a few packs at a time)

Can I ask where you purchase them from? I have seen them on Ebay but I am loathe to go down that route as my sister was very poorly after purchasing a medication from there, the doctor suspected it was a dupe from China. Does it end up an expensive purchase? I have to take the liquid version as I can't tolerate the Mannitol in the tablets and all the liquid Pepto that I have seen online end up costing around £30 with p&p.

Sadly, I think this is true. Just wish there was something available in the UK which is very similar and there just isn't.
