I am a teacher and taught for two decade in a school with some challenges. I have moved to a very ‘nice’ school and headteacher is lovely, but they are not set up for a new system (specialist class for emotional needs etc). I am leaving work crying, management are not really supporting. New job is 40 min drive. I live in a rural area and jobs are not easy to come by.
as I said headteacher is lovely and he is caring and I feel disloyal. They won’t be able to get anyone to replace me with my experience and maybe I should see out the year (will become permanent in May)
my team (classroom assistants are amazing) the current school is 10 mins from home. I’ve two kids in late primary but I have a great childminder so the new job is fine travel wise. It’s established and very well organised. I’m not in UK and teaching is better here (used to teach in UK) - I support the question is do I ride out the storm ? The head of my department is very lackadaisy and the other person can’t support with the class as she had her medical reasons. There is no one else to support.
