Ive just made a bacon and egg sandwich for a guest staying, but have made myself chocolate porridge with whole buckwheat for crunch and loaded in frozen mango, topped with kiwi and yogurt - its my favourite breakfast

Frozen or fresh fruit, especially apple, grapes, raspberries, strawberries and blueberries, with Greek yoghurt, honey and flaked almonds.

MadamePeriwinkle · 12/10/2024 10:26

Day to day - chocolate protein porridge with fresh raspberries

Treat - eggs royale

catin8oots · 12/10/2024 10:28

I'm just lying in bed reading this and thinking what breakfast would I choose if I could only eat one for the rest of my life? And I don't ever really eat breakfast (fasting) but it would be between

Bacon granary bread sandwich with brown sauce

Dippy eggs with white bread soldiers

Chocolate chip granola

Cinnamon bagel with peanut butter and banana

Blueberry porridge or eggs and avo on toast. They’re the only things I have for breakfast really!

Porridge is: masses of frozen blueberries into a pan. Sprinkle over gluten free oats. Splash over some water. Simmer couple mins until berries are hot through and everything is purple :) drizzle with almond butter and if it’s the weekend sprinkle over some chopped up dark choc :)

Eggs and avo pretty obvious - sourdough (anyone got a GF sourdough recommendation that would be great as they’re always like cake!!), half an avo, easy over egg on top, ketchup.

Newtrix · 12/10/2024 10:31

McDonald's double sausage muffin with no egg, extra cheese and 2 hash browns.

BobbyBiscuits · 12/10/2024 10:33

From the greasy spoon caff- poached egg that's soft but not runny, sausage, mushrooms and chips if I'm feeling adventurous! Followed by a pint in the pub.
I don't really have that very often though.

TentEntWenTyfOur · 12/10/2024 10:33

I don't really like sweet or sugary things for breakfast, and fruit at that time of the morning would give me indigestion all day so all things considered, I'd have to plump for the full monty fry-up as my favourite.

I had such a boring breakfast today. Toast and marg. Vitamin D tablet for excitement. Now I want another nice one like you all have 😢

Turkish breakfasts are lovely but tbh any breakfast away from home would be nice

Zippedydodah · 12/10/2024 10:35

I’m enjoying sourdough toast with fried mushrooms and an egg, HP sauce, salt and pepper this morning 😋

Coldiron · 12/10/2024 10:37

My first breakfast today was cereal and then second breakfast was soft boiled eggs chopped up on ciabatta toast.

My favourite is probably scrambled eggs and smoked salmon and also fruit salad.

Cluckinchicken · 12/10/2024 10:38

Salad and dressing, cooked meats and cheese, with crusty bread and salted butter, strong coffee lots of water

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 12/10/2024 10:44

Nothing sweet, no cereal.

If staying in a hotel, I really enjoy a good old English Breakfast fry-up, as long as any fried egg is not sunny side up, with vile slimy uncooked white - but they usually are, so I tend to say no egg, or else give it to dh, who doesn’t care.

At home (esp, when trying to avoid bread) I often microwave a jacket potato or two, ready to slice and fry (one at a time) in just a film of oil, with a scrambled egg, and sometimes bacon, too.

Bamboozie · 12/10/2024 10:49

I have this breakfast a few days a week.
It’s my lazy take on Spanish eggs (less ingredients)

Some butter in the hot pan, add a tin of chopped tomatoes (I like the Mutti ones best)
Lots of chopped basil, some black pepper.
Then I crack 2 eggs in and let it cook for 7/8 mins. I crumble a little feta in near the end.
Eat with a couple of slices of toasted sourdough. I love dipping it in.

I serve it in a big pasta bowl and my toddler dc helps me eat it - he loves it too!

dutysuite · 12/10/2024 10:52

I don’t really like eating in morning but if I stay at a hotel and there’s smoked salmon, salami and cheese I go for that. I like boiled eggs too.

Marg?
Why don't you treat yourself to butter?

Nell1974 · 12/10/2024 10:54

Full Welsh breakfast for me, although I only ever indulge on high days and holidays. Mostly I have porridge with chopped fruit, which is tasty and filling and not too heavy on the calories.

Cooked by someone else - fried or scrambled egg, bacon, toast, coffee. Possibly extra toast with marmalade

Daily favourite - Yeo Valley natural yoghurt, high protein granola, prunes

Viavita · 12/10/2024 11:12

@Bamboozie that sounds amazing, thanks.

Binman · 12/10/2024 11:15

Greek yogurt and high protein low sugar granola is my favourite, I could eat at every meal never mind breakfast.

Dippy eggs or soft scrambled egg with bacon, toast and Lurpak because it reminds me of my grandma.

@Nell1974 what's in a Welsh breakfast?

Same as a full English except with laverbread instead of fried bread. Also all meat products must be from Welsh farmers. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Last night’s leftover pizza, straight out the fridge with lashings of Encona Hot Pepper Sauce.

Crushed23 · 12/10/2024 11:19

Chocolate protein porridge with nuts and manuka honey.

I literally go to bed looking forward to it the next morning. 😁
