Girona - has anyone been in October?

DP and I will be in Girona for 4 days soon. Can anybody tell us anything first-hand about the city? We're in our 60s, active and love using the good public transport systems in Italy, France and Spain. Do not want to visit the playas and know Barcelona well - all other suggestions welcome!

I was there last September with a friend for four days, loved it.

It's a small walkable city with cute shops, good restaurants and the old square (Placa de la Independencia) is a nice spot to have a drink and people watch. On the other side of the river there is the old Jewish area which is beautiful, there are museums and the old cathedral with the steps that featured in Game of Thrones. There are also Arab baths which we didn't get to but I hear are good. Overall I would really like to go back again. The weather should still be ok as it was touching 30C in September last year.
