Please recommend and fast and quiet tumble dryer please

Our lovely AEG condenser tumble dryer has died after 5 years. My main problem with it was that it took over 2 hours to dry if the load was large. Ideally I would like a quiet replacement as well as it is in the kitchen. Can anyone recommend a tumble dryer that is fast and quiet?

(I can't edit the title typos.. argh)

John Lewis own brand heat pump tumble condenser dryer. Quite efficient and costs only around £0.55 per load to dry,

Do you want a condenser or one which vents to the outside?

Kryten1958 My concern with the heat pump dryer is that I am told they take longer to dry. Is that true?

LochKatrine I could attach it to the drain from the sink I think but currently we have a condenser. There is no way for it to access the outside directly unless I knock a hole in the wall.

I have a Miele condenser dryer. It's very efficient and dries the loads quickly. It's also really quiet!

If the machine is set to completely dry (as opposed to ready to iron), it takes just over an hour on average. The programme initially displays 2h45m then this is reduced once the sensors have calculated the weight and dampness of the load.
A 1400 spin speed on your washing machine helps here.

Same here. I've had a Miele washing machine for years. Never a problem.
