Would you travel to Egypt (Sharm) in December

We have a holiday booked to go to sharm in December.
i know there have been various threads over the months asking if you’d go and normally I just think, just go.
However things are getting more strained in surrounding areas and my oh is having serious doubts, he’s more worried about radicals taking action against westerners than getting caught up in a war.

what would you do?

is non Essential travel still allowed to Egypt? Your holiday will probably be cancelled soon?

All the Egyptians living in Sharm are connected to the travel industry in some way and want tourists to be coming so you will face no problems from Egyptians there. The Egyptian government have heavy security around Sharm as they don't want any problems either. I lived in Egypt for many years. My very British looking son has just gone to study there for a year and I have no worries at all. Go.

I'd wait. Things change rapidly. What's the cut off for getting your money back? I'm pretty sure there was an article about this in the telegraph this week. I'll see if I can dig it out. The message seemed to be to go, even to Cyprus, which is v close to Lebanon!

The southern part of the Sinai peninsula has a huge military and police presence and lots of checkpoints. If what you/DH are worried about are terrorist attacks, then it is very safe.

We went in August and it was absolutely fine. A colleague who is from Egypt said there would be no problems there as the rely on tourism.
