I'm in the very fortunate position of being able to invest a bit in some useful things.

I'm wondering about an air fryer. Would that be a good choice, would you say?

What else might be good?

So far I've got:
A really good new mixing bowl!!!!!
Possibly an air fryer
Possibly a new waterproof coat

A robot vacuum.

schoolfeeslave · 09/10/2024 17:56

i do this each month with little things up to £25.

Things like - an extra long phone charger, a big box of biros, spare make up so I have some at work, a second gym padlock as I have two gym bags (keep one in the car) and I kept forgetting to swap it round.

it really depends on your lifestyle, I haven't been tempted by an air fryer for example.

I would be tempted by a second hoover to keep upstairs or a second dishwasher myself....

A robot vacuum.

This!

MrsMagoooo · 09/10/2024 18:01

Awww, I read that as £1000 per day.
I was ready to be extravagant with a private chef and housekeeper.

MoneyAndPercentages · 09/10/2024 18:01

Second the robot vacuum!

Air fryers are great. Well worth the hype.

Good storage, if you have anything banged up/could work better.

Good gym clothes/trainers. Makes me actually WANT to work out when I know I'll look cute!

Jellycats make everything better 😏

Nice bed linen sets ~ obviously depends on what you have already but my first White Company bed set will always have a special place in my heart ❤️

Three weeks unpaid leave to deep clean and declutter and sort out my mental health

Marmite27 · 09/10/2024 18:05

I recently bought two more identical sports bras from Vinted, as mine had been discontinued. Not rummaging through the wash basket every other day or rewearing Envy has greatly improved my mood!

I love my airfryer and instant pot.

An electric under blanket on the bed is bliss, as is my electric throw for the sofa - everyone else in this household runs warmer than I do.

theotherfossilsister · 09/10/2024 18:05

We have an incredible wok though. A friend gave it to DP in 2017 and I was like, why do we need a £100 wok, but he gets lot if use out the of it

PandaChopChop · 09/10/2024 18:08

Deep clean and a robot vacuum! We have a eufy which IIRC cost £250.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 09/10/2024 18:09

These are great! I especially like:
a couple more good bras
some long charging cables

I love the idea of a heater that you set to the temperature you want the room to be at though, one that rotates.

Chickoletta · 09/10/2024 18:11

Yes to an air fryer, robot hoover and some decent storage - I’m on an Ikea hacks fb page on which people seem able to make amazing boot room set-ups for a few hundred quid.

i’ve just spent £20 on 2 3-packs of black jersey vests from M&S - I wear them under my clothes and as pj tops and love them.

Spare make-up for work/handbag is a good call too.

ohreallythatisveryinteresting · 09/10/2024 18:14

Def robot vacuum and ones that mops. Prob on Amazon prime day now !

really nice perfume. Aesop or Diptyke.

nice bag.

a faith in nature 5 litre of body lotion so you can slaver yourself at will.

a nice advent calendar for Xmas

I've got Jigsaw lace trimmed camisoles that do the same job for me. But if anybody could recommend some perfect scoop neck three quarter sleeve black tops, I'd buy ten of the elusive little buggers. My Jigsaw ones have died after many years and they don't do them anymore.

ohreallythatisveryinteresting · 09/10/2024 18:16

Oh Uniqlo do those - in heattech .

or you can specify sleeve length on Vinted. Just got some silk jigsaw tops for £7

. typos !

PippyPip · 09/10/2024 18:16

A dishwasher 😩

Chillisintheair · 09/10/2024 18:18

Back lit mirror with demister and tooth brush charger.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 09/10/2024 18:18

@ohreallythatisveryinteresting I want exactly that shape, but not thermal.

We got a cordless lightweight handheld vacuum thing last week - I love it! It’s just so quick to whip round and give everything a quick vacuum compared to the faff of getting the normal heavy vacuum out, plugging it in, the cord not stretching down the stairs. Already the house looks cleaner and that makes me feel calmer :)

ohreallythatisveryinteresting · 09/10/2024 18:23

Yeah the Vinted app is good, I had a look and got loads of great suggestions, waiting for three tops to be delivered. Silk tops are too dangerous for me to buy new as I always get food down them

Rollercoaster1920 · 09/10/2024 18:25

Sadly I'd pay off £1000 of the mortgage. That would save me approx £740 over the mortgage term.

BunnyLake · 09/10/2024 18:32

Sgtmajormummy · 09/10/2024 17:51

A robot vacuum.

That’s what I was going to say!

I’d have to add a few hundred extra in though as I’d like the one that mops too which is about £1,600.

Aroastdinnerisnotahumanright · 09/10/2024 18:35

Doesn't cost much but makes life easier to have a good supply of:

Socks (all same to match)
Plain underwear and vests
Black tights
Microfibre cleaning clothes

LottieMary · 09/10/2024 18:41

Replace some of the kitchen sockets with usb ones and a little shelf to keep my phone on. Alarm clock in my bedroom instead.
robot lawnmower (I already have hoovers and they’re fab)
several handbag size perfumes for quick spritzing
a set of Nice mixing bowls.

StealthMama · 09/10/2024 18:45

A freezer full of Cook ready meals.
