Heavy periods after baby tmi

looking to see if this is normal? I had my third child last year, period came back when baby was around 7/8 months. They have been so heavy, TMI but this heaviness lasts for all the period not let up and also passing clots. This has been the pattern now for 7 months…. I always had heavy period but usually couple days then they start to lighten then tail off. This now is causing me so much embarrassment as blood leaking through and having to change tampon/pad all the time. It is also leaving me exhausted. I started period last Thursday and today still heavy as ever with lots of leaks and bright red blood.

Will this ever settle down again? I never had this issue after having my other 2 children.

Go to the GP. I waited until I fainted from blood loss (20 months postpartum!) before going.

Apparently it’s because the surface area of your uterus increases due to stretching. My doctor described it as like when you buy a new fitted sheet and it’s all pressed and wrapped. But when you unwrap it (pregnancy) you’ll never be able to fold it back up as neatly and perfectly. Depressing stuff really.
