Looking for a really warm, good quality duvet - what do I get and where do I get it???

It's a LONG time since I've bought a duvet.

I'm keen to get a really warm double, and not one with 2 duvets in 1 as they drive me nuts.

Am I looking at 13.5 tog?

And what would you buy and where?

Thanks!!

Silent Night Air Max duvex. Comes in 10.5 & 13.5 tog.
It's brilliant. Lightweight but warm.
I bought ours from Costco. Amazon, John Lewis & Wayfair are listed stockists.

Get a wool one, they are amazing.

outforawalkbiatch · 08/10/2024 20:17

Mine is from woolroom and I love it
My dad who is very northern "OW MUCH?!" prodded it and hmmmmed then went and bought his own ShockGrin unheard of

I have Hungarian down. 13.5 tog, twenty years old . Bliss. I have bought my dd eco friendly recycled down , I think a 10 tog as her university halls are well heated,

I have a 13.5 tog feather duvet, from Dunelm, around £100. It's amazing! But HOT. I've actually just taken it back off after a week as it's not cold enough yet.

Another one who has wool.
I love mine.

Lollygaggle · 08/10/2024 20:22

Yet another for wool, warm in winter, cool in summer , washable in machine (not all wool duvets are) , got it on special from wool room , have never spent so much on a duvet but worth every penny.

I have a wool one from the wool room too. Warm but light, I can't stand heavy duvets that pin you down so this is perfect for me.

I have a wool one from Baavet. Absolutely love it. My daughter has one from wool room. It's much thinner. I like a bit more weight.

Cozytoesandtoast00 · 08/10/2024 20:48

I bought a wool one for my daughter based on Mumsnet suggestions. She finds it too cold!
I suppose we are all different.

someoneseatenmyapple · 08/10/2024 23:46

Recently bought a wool duvet from the Woolroom. Best purchase ever!!

I bought the medium for winter...

The white company I love mine.

Tautumnal · 09/10/2024 00:38

I have a 13.5 tog but bedding is important too, brushed cotton bedding makes a huge difference to the warmth too.

Copperoliverbear · 09/10/2024 00:38

We have floks too for when it's really cold amazingly warm (wool)

EngineEngineNumber9 · 09/10/2024 00:41

Another wool fan - also have a Baavet, I think it’s medium weight. Absolutely love it. I have a silk one at the moment which is my summer one but changing to my wool one this weekend I think.

BreadMachine · 09/10/2024 00:42

We've got ones from Tempur and John Lewis, both feather and down, and would recommend both of them for quality

Spartak · 09/10/2024 00:48

I've got a wool one from Devon Duvets. I've got the winter warm one. Bought it ten years ago and it's still like new.

They've got 20% off at the moment.

loveyouradvice · 09/10/2024 22:15

gosh all these wool duvets - Id not even heard of these.... always bought feather and down.... off to investigate more!
