TTC and pregnant colleagues

I’m looking for some advice and reassurance from someone else who has been through, or going through the TTC journey.

I’ve been TTC for 15 months, with absolutely no luck, during this time 3 of my colleagues (in a small team) have got pregnant and had healthy babies. Now they are all on maternity leave I’m coping better but it’s been rough.

In a few weeks I’m going to the wedding of another colleague and the only people I will know there are the three new mums. Am I being ridiculous that this is going to painful and upsetting?? Not sure how to manage people just talking about babies for a whole day.

any words of kindness would be appreciated.

Oof I'm sorry you're going through this, I've been in a similar situation and it's so tough. It is especially difficult meeting up with a group of parents as naturally a lot of chat turns to babies etc and you feel a bit left out and sad. My advice would be to go with an open mind and if it's too tough then leave! It might not be as bad as you think, but you can always make your excuses. Wishing you all the best for this and your journey. X

You’re not being ridiculous at all, totally expected you’d find it hard. I had a miscarriage last year at 11 weeks, and then it took us several months to conceive again-i found it really hard when friends / colleagues were pregnant. No real suggestions unfortunately, perhaps just try and steer conversations to other topics. Your journey is your own; and I’m sure it’ll happen for you soon x
