What to gift someone who has had throat surgery

Hello
My stepdad has just had throat surgery and I'd like to take something over when I see him tomorrow. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to get? Ordinarily I'd bake something or take them out for a meal but of course that won't be possible. I'm stumped!

An expensive magazine about something he likes?

Oh dear, poor guy. If he's resting lots he might start feeling the cold, maybe a nice autumn fleece blanket, a water bottle or thermal socks.

If he's in hospital, something that helps him avoid unwanted noise might be good so he can rest/sleep.
Ear plugs / great phones with noise cancelling

Books or magazines
subscription to audio books
headphones/earbuds
warm socks
nice toiletries
netflix subscription if he doesn’t have one
a big triangular pillow for bed/chair
Bluetooth speaker
puzzles - jigsaws etc or puzzle books
