Travelling to the EU this christmas

Can someone clarify when we’re supposed to start needing biometric info + visa to enter the EU?

Some info I have says 1st November, others talk about April next year?

Totally confused.

One scheme with the biometric info seems to be coming in November 2024 and the visa thing seems to be next year

You will have your biometrics etc taken, as will I(go away in December too) but the visa/fee won't come in until next year.

So it’s two different things! That’s why I got so confused!

So biometrics only in December. With the accompanying mayhem.
