Hi!
I was hoping to get some thoughts from others (particularly those in corporate roles). I'm currently four months into my second mat leave and have been offered a promotion at work to a senior role (VP) but would ideally need to cut my maternity leave short and return at perhaps 7/8 months vs. 10/11 months. The role is a big jump in terms of salary (~50k increase) and will require some long hours + travel around Europe.
We have great childcare in place with a local childminder who is brilliant and my husband works full-time but is more than capable of taking on the majority of 'stuff' around the house. Travel + long hours isn't new as I've always done this but will obviously be different with two kids. It will also be a bit of a shock for my eldest who's very quickly got used to me dropping her off + picking her up from school every day.
Has anyone cut their mat leave short for this kind of opportunity? Did it work for you? Do you have regrets?
Thanks!
