The new childcare rules ‘working parents’

Hi sorry for this post if it’s really obvious but for some reason can’t get the answer online. How many hours a
week do you need to be earning to be entitled to the free childcare for 2 year olds now? And is it only if you earn under a certain amount?

eg if my husband earned a lot and I worked 15 hours would that mean I’m not entitled to the childcare because it needs to be 16 hours or because our overall earnings are still too high? Thanks.

The max earning for each person is £100k taxable income, so after pension contributions). There isn't a minimum amount of hours is based on income, so the minimum income is £2,380 before tax over 3 months, which is equal to 16 hours a week minimum wage. Do you both fit within that?

In your example, if your DH earned over £100k it wouldn't matter what your income is as you wouldn't be eligible based on his income
