Anyone else going to be up all night?

Just bracing myself for a terrible night. Poor 1yo has a nasty cough/cold that is causing him to vomit with each cough. DH is going to spend the night in his room to make sure he's ok.

He's passed his germs on to our 5 week old too, who is congested and is also bringing up lots of milk. Luckily no signs of dehydration. He's not a good sleeper anyway, add a cold to the equation and I'm definitely going to be up all night. And DH won't be around to help tonight.

Anyone else know they're getting no sleep tonight?

I just want to send you some love because this stage is so tough and it's awful to know you are going to get barely any sleep tonight. My DC are 3 and 6 now so we have some up and down on the odd night but mostly they sleep through. It will happen for you eventually although that might not feel like any consolation.
Sometimes I found it useful to think that you will get some rest and to focus on the cuddles. And do whatever gets you all the most sleep!

This is so lovely, thank you ❤️ it is useful to frame it that way. DS1 has just started nursery so this will most definitely be the first night of many - trying not to think about that now though!

Oh horrid! I remember those days so well. I used to wish them away as I was convinced when they were older all they’d do is sleep, now they keep me up for other reasons!
like @HappierTimesAhead said, focus on the cuddles.
