Newspaper Subscription - The Times has gone batshit

I’ve come to the conclusion I need to give up my Times subscription - they have just published an article about how Angela Rayner bought her boyfriend an expensive suit for Xmas. Whilst pre election I found the reporting relatively balanced, that appears to have gone by the wayside.

So - does anyone have any other recommendations for good balanced reporting (I am a member of the left leaning wokerati - so not the Telegraph)

I'm really struggling with The Times recently. Most of the articles seem really superficial and the contrast between the articles since the election and before the election is just ridiculous. But don't know where to go. Given how little of the actual news I am reading in it, I did wonder about just reading The Economist instead. At least that will be more in depth.
I'm not sure if I can give up The Times though until Melanie Reid has moved into her new house.

Gave up the Times a couple of years ago after I realised it was turning into a slightly more refined Daily Mail. I don’t miss it at all.

Yes, this. Every month i reconsider my subscription. It all seems so immature now.

The Guardian is about as far from neutral as it’s possible to get.

At least you don't get all the rabid 'anti woke' comments underneath the articles.

The Financial Times is worth the cash imo.

Glad it's not just me that thinks The Times has gone to shit recently. I'd get far more enjoyment out of spending the equivalent money on chocolate.

I’ve cancelled my subscription. So much clickbait rubbish.

@BovrilonToast i’ve had exactly the same thought over the last few weeks. They’ve upped my subscription from a reduced rate I was offered last time I rang up to cancel which is making me even less tolerant of the absolute rubbish they are churning out since the election. I agree they are obsessed with the freebie stuff, Angela Rayner witch-hunts and loosely disguised royal stories to have another pop at Meghan.

I agree that it’s no better than the Daily Mail for news now. My reason for sticking with it is mainly for all the supplement sections at the weekend but it’s not worth it now.

I downloaded the Guardian app today so plan to give that a try for a bit and also intend to ring the Times and cancel this week.

@Alittlemorebling I think I’d rather give my money to the Guardian too. Just need to get round to cancelling the Times now….

Thanks everyone for your suggestions.
