Hello Mums,

i need to start thinking about secondary school options for my daughter. The main decision is whether to stay in Dubai and let her attend a high school here or return to the UK. I would love to hear from people who have made this move and have some first hand experience (-ve and +ve). Was it a good decision for your childs education? Do you have any regrets? Love to hear peoples opinions. Thanks in advance xx

Can you fully self fund DC through university if they go? If not it's worth bringing them back to the UK in time to meet the residency requirements for student finance.

@ViviLee we loved our life in Dubai but felt we wouldn't have given the kids the best opportunities if they didn't go to private secondary schools here. We left it as long as we could and moved back as kids were starting years 12, 9 and 7.

However we managed to get them into good private schools as even then not all schools are equal.

This was the best decision for them. Not because of the academic education as what they got in Dubai was good. It's the traditions, culture and the people.

I wouldn't have moved back just for residency as the tax saving in Dubai would have been more than enough for international fees.

For me it's the journey ..... i believe the schools they attended and their teenage life in UK shaped their characters . Plus teenage life here is completely different to that of Dubai and the kids enjoyed their freedom
