Lakeland Pearlescent Kettle has anyone got this? Would you recommend it?

Our old kettle is on its last legs and have been thinking about getting a glass kettle, this Lakeland one looks lovely!
There are only 2 reviews though one of which says it is difficult to open the lid.
So just wondered if anyone on here has one and what’s it like.
Thanks 😊

MIL had it. It looked grubby, cloudy and scaley all the time. Worked fine as a kettle, it heated water! But the transparent jug turned out to be an eyesore after a few uses.

Ok thank you, that’s very helpful!

We had one like that and it was fine, always looked clean, but we have very soft water so no scale buildup.

@TheArtOfTreeHugging @Chemenger

Very useful comments, thank you both. We have soft water so hopefully the grubbiness shouldn’t be too much of a problem. I have read they can look awful in hard water areas.

Were there any problems with the lid? Or weight? Being glass I was wondering if it might be heavy to lift when full.
