Asking to turn down the football

My partner is hard of hearing and wears hearing aids for work but refuses to wear them in the house. Tonight is date night but he’s watching the football while I made a curry. I came into living room and asked him to turn it down as my ears abs head hurt with it and he started complaining saying it would spoil it, I don’t normally complain, making a fuss. I then retorted that it was reasonable as I am entitled to sit in my living room. It’s led to a row where ‘oh only you could spoil this for me ‘.
AIBU to ask for volume to go down?

Of course YANBU. He is being very inconsiderate not to wear the hearing aid.

If he's refusing to wear them in the house is it because he needs a break from them?

Yanbu exposure to loud noise could end up damaging your hearing too and that's a major risk factor for dementia.

Tell him to put his fucking aids in.
