Coccyx pain after weight loss?

Has this been a thing for anyone else?

I've lost some weight this year and have gone from overweight to normal on the BMI scale.

Thrilled and very pleased with myself! However, I have been having quite a lot of pain around my coccyx area, particularly when I'm sat down. It feels quite inflamed and sore, and I've had to also stop wearing my go-to thong underwear, as they seem to make it even worse.

I'm assuming that I've lost some of the cushioning that was previously there, but is this my life now as a 'normal' person?! 😂

Its been like this for a couple of months. Why is my ass so sore and what can I do about it?!

Yes I had that years ago when I lost weight. You've probably just lit it very fast. It will sort itself out. Just sit on soft cushions for a while until it does.

I've found the same!! Down a fair few stone and I'm struggling, it's actually quite sore sometimes. Guessing similar, that I have less padding and am maybe sat slightly differently due to having less of a fat arse 😂

It's driving me mad! Am constantly having to sit at a weird angle to take the pressure off!
Wondering whether to buy one of those cushions for people with piles, with a hole in the middle!

Sounds like a pilonidal abscess! Get to the doc

I've actually had one of those before. (So bleurgh!) But this is a different pain, so am not worried about a reoccurrence. It's just a reduction in fat leaving my poor coccyx less cushioned I think!

@ScottishLottie I've got exactly this! Lost 3 stone and cannot for the life of me sit comfortably any more. Feels like it sticks out loads, I can actually feel it at the top of my bum and it's so hard! Did you end up getting a coccyx cushion? Any recommendations?
