Buying bedding! |Help! Forgive me, but I need it packaged well

Apologies, I know many people do not like excess packaging for environmental reasons, but I am OCD and need the retailer to wrap duvet covers, sheets etc fully in cellophane like in the old days. I have been buyng beding online and lately (eg M and S) it arrives 'naked' other than a thin loop of card across the middle. Does anyone know if John Lewis in particular, or any other retailer, fully wrap their duvets and sheets?

Go to Dunelm. You can see it all on the shelves in plastic packaging there. I’m fairly sure all the Dorma brand stuff is fully wrapped.

Changingplace · 03/10/2024 23:30

Just wash it, don’t you do that before using anyway? I always do and I’m not even particularly fussy!

Pinkfluffypencilcase · 03/10/2024 23:32

IKEA has some wrapped ones.

Sainsburys is annoying as they're stuff arrives packaged but is taken out for display.
Don't know how it would arrive if ordered on line.

What's dunelm like?

Next bedding is wrapped. Had a couple of sets recently.

LouScot · 03/10/2024 23:38

Dunelm has wrapped as well as "open" if there's one near you

penni00 · 03/10/2024 23:43

Thank you people. I do wash it anyway but still want it wrapped when buying for various OCD reasons lol. How annoying about Sainsburys taking off the wrapping for display. Also is Ikea bedding UK standard size? I cannot get to the shops, so buying it online is a gamble with the wrapping.

Op I also have ocd and have also worried these same thoughts. Last time I went to a Next Home store they still had some covers in plastic wrapping. Are you able to ask anyone else to go to store for you if you’re not able to go yourself?

penni00 · 04/10/2024 00:09

@Evermore7 I really need to buy online. Were all of Next covers in plastic wrapping, or just some of them please?

It was a mixture of in plastic and non plastic in the store near me. I will be going to my
local store next week. I would be happy to message you with a photo to show any in packets if that’s any help.

POTC · 04/10/2024 00:20

@penni00 Dunelm sell online

Mudflaps · 04/10/2024 00:21

I'm in Ireland so don't know if this will be of use but I was in Home Store and More today and their bedding is fully packaged. I took photos so I'll remember what I want to order online next week. I'll see if I can attach them.

Habitat via Argos came wrapped for me recently. TK Maxx all are too and you get some lovely bargains there!

Jk987 · 04/10/2024 00:27

You'll be fine with unwrapped. Don't let ocd rule your life. No one needs more plastic.

Ladyandherspaniel · 04/10/2024 00:31

I work for Argos and the majority of our duvet covers are wrapped. I'm sure the only bedding I've seen without plastic is sometimes the mattress protectors but not always.

Ladyandherspaniel · 04/10/2024 00:32

If you wanted to order from Argos let me know a catalogue number and if we have it in stock in my store il check to see if it's in plastic 😁😁

HellsBells67 · 04/10/2024 01:15

White company bedding came wrapped last month, although I wash it before use anyway, as instructed.

TossedSaladandSE · 04/10/2024 01:33

I know that John Lewis and M&S package their bedding properly

Ihateslugs · 04/10/2024 01:37

I bought online from Dunelm, I can assure you everything was thoroughly packed in plastic, it took me ages to undo everything! Sizes were very accurate to standard double bed - mattress protector, pillow cases, fitted sheet and flat sheet. There was so much choice !

Aroastdinnerisnotahumanright · 04/10/2024 01:56

La redoute, really nice sheets and come in plastic, if that hasn't changed in the year since I last bought from them.

semantlename · 04/10/2024 03:21

Catherine Lansfield on Amazon have always come wrapped for me.
