Advice re ovary pain - perimenopause

I am concerned as had a dull ache on one side more or less constantly for several days now, think it seems to be in ovarian area. Seen GP who wasn’t concerned and advised to give it a few weeks before ultrasound. Pain seems to be increasing as initially intermittent but now constant. Early 50s, perimenopausal and no period for around 7-8 weeks which is unusual for me (but aware not unusual in perimenopause). So not sure if pain is related to the latter or something else.

Anyone been in a similar position or experienced similar pain? Aware can experience ovarian pain in perimenopause but thought it was generally intermittent rather than constant over a number of days? Any experience or info appreciated.

Yes. Last year I went for a wee and I was pushing I felt this terrible pain in my right ovary/groin area which took my breath away. Didn't feel it again until a few weeks later but not as bad. Had blood tests, ultrasound of kidneys and ovaries, another ultrasound looking for hernia and they couldn't find anything. I still feel it occasionally but can only assume it's peri as the investigations showed nothing.

Thank you. It’s the fact that it’s been continuous for several days that I’m particularly concerned about. No idea if that’s normal or not.

Go back to your GP and ask for a CA125 test to be sure. Worrying is doing you no good.
