Unusual but delicious sandwich fillings

I had a cheese sandwich today and had run out of pickle. So I scanned the pantry and decided to try a bit of mint sauce. Delicious!

What other fillings am I missing out on?

A Birdseye potato waffle sandwich is nice with spicy mayo. Double carb hit 😁

Banana and cashew nuts (mashed & chopped) toasties

Thin sliced wholemeal bread - crushed mini cheddars and roast chicken.

@hereismydog Primula rather than dairylea with my Frazzles ... add a slice of wafer thin ham too.

Peanut butter and Banana or Peanut butter and Nutella

Cheese, tuna and sweetcorn - no mayo - toasted to melt cheese

Link Sausage, baked beans and fried mushrooms

Egg mayo with marmite and cucumber
Langley farm cottage cheese with marmite and cucumber
Langley farm cottage cheese with red pesto
(Sloppy own brand cottage cheese is not the same)

Tuna, mayo and cranberry sauce with iceberg lettuce.

Left over, heated up Tarka Dhal on toast for breakfast - yummmmm

Roast chicken with sliced strawberries is yummmm

Avocado, bacon, sundried tomatoes and mayonnaise.

Bacon, blue Stilton & mango chutney.
Corned beef & lemon curd is surprisingly delicious.

Bubble and squeak and HP sauce makes for a surprisingly delish sarnie 😋

Hummus and crispy seaweed! From a sandwich place in Brighton, long ago.

crispy chilli oil sediment and cheese, toasted

Slightly charred sausage with caramelised onion and a dob of rose harissa.

Philadelphia and thinly chopped sundried tomatoes - the type in olive oil. Even better if you can find smoked ones (Brighton, Terre a Terre I love you!). Rocket optional but good in this.

Cream cheese (philly type but less important that it's actual philadelphia), dates and walnuts.

Substitute the bread of most sandwiches for apple slices.

A toastie made with left over chilli con carne and cheese, cut into fingers and dipped into guacamole/sour cream/salsa all in one bowl side by side so you get a bit of each (I worked in an American restaurant once that called this a flag because it looks like red white and green stripes). DS loves this
Also cheese on toast with a thin layer of Bolognese Ragu under the cheese

Philadelphia, grated carrot, salt and pepper. Lush.

That sounds so delicious it should be illegal! So wrong and yet so right!😂

Mash potato, grated cheese and crispy onions.

Not unusual but brie and avocado on seeded sourdough is pretty much my favourite food.

Red Leicester and coleslaw with jalapeño peppers chopped into it. Wholemeal bread.

Avocado and smoked salmon with lemon juice and black pepper.

Mozarella, pesto and tomatoes.

Tuna, onion, mayo and Worcester sauce.

Hummus, avocado, cherry tomatoes, cucumber and red onions in a toasted bagel or flat bread. I know it's probably not unusual, but it's my favourite.

I'm going to be trying peanut butter and cucumber though.

Haven't read the quote thread so I'm not sure if it's been mentioned already but grated cheese and hummmus is lovely

Cold scrambled egg and marmite on brown bread.

I work in a deli and some of the fillings people ask for are mad!

Chicken and grape/peach/pineapple
Potato salad
Pasta salad
Noodles
Florida salad
Carrot and orange jelly
All the above with meat fish or cheese
Chicken Tikka and tuna

And then some people have about 5 or 6 different fillings the sandwich is huge and messy to eat!
