Please help me figure out why people stare at me when I'm driving?

This happens so often. When I drive past someone, they stare and me and will hold turn their head to continue to stare until I have driven past.

This is pedestrians, and people stood at bus stops etc.

I don't have a weird car. No outlandish hairstyles or makeup.

I am mixed race in a predominantly white area, but I've noticed it elsewhere too.

What's going on?!

Maybe you have a 'fixed' expression when driving?

Are you sure it's not because you're looking at them?

How do you know that "they stare and me and will hold turn their head to continue to stare until I have driven past" unless you are also staring back at them?

It sounds to me that you inadvertently catch people's eye as you've been driving, they've looked back and continued to look because you are looking at them???

If you're looking at someone that long whilst driving past, they're probably worried you're going to crash!

Do you drive a giant car? They could be concerned about the environment? I also see quite small women driving massive cars and they look as if they can only just see over the steering wheel and I will admit they catch my eye as they don't look very safe.

Terrible driver? Hazards flashing, how would we know?

Do you have your full beams on and not know?

You drive with your mouth open and / or your tongue sticking out .

Does your car make a funny noise? I had this when I had a stone stuck in my car wheel and was making a noise.

You shouldn't be noticing people staring to that degree.

Unless of course you're driving everywhere at 10mph.

Are you driving a manual car and your gears are shrieking to be changed? Or your fan belt is making that screeching noise?
