Vinted buyer protection is such a scam

So mad, bought a BNWT coat on vinted, received a dirty, stained coat with a broken zip, sent in a dirty bin bag.

to be told I have to pay return postage in this situation is an absolute joke. Buyer protection is a scam.

have come on here and read other people’s similar experiences, disgraceful.

No seller fees on eBay now. I'd head back over there, the whole operation is so much more professional.

They must be making £££ off this. I only buy small value things so £1 on every transaction must add up

I've had the same problem, it is infuriating. Vinted is set up for sellers. eBay is a much more professional outfit and the seller receives the protections they deserve.

I say this primarily as a seller. If someone complains on eBay then the sellers payments are put on hold until the issue is resolved. This has happened to me once and it was a genuine issue/error on my part and I resolved it before I received the money. Fair enough.

When I have been a buyer on Vinted I've just been told hard luck and lost out on money. Very frustrating.

I fully agree. I find Vinted is better for sellers and ebay is better for buyers. The thing about having to pay return postage even when it's entirely the sellers fault really bothers me as well. Why is it like that?

I've managed to get sellers to agree to a refund without having to pay postage, and then Vinted has paid it out when the seller went AWOL. Worth trying. But agree, Vinted offers precisely 0 protection to buyers despite charging a fairly hefty fee (when you look at it in % terms).
