Advice needed: removal firm not delivered all items

Just looking for a bit of advice here; my mum (in her 80's) recently moved & we used the company who previously moved another family member.

Unfortunately there were unexpected delays & some items went to the company's storage facility.

Whilst most of the items have been delivered, some we are still waiting on over a month later. Not necessarily expensive items but essential (eg main cushions for sofa, old Apple Mac) or sentimental (generations of family photos going back up Victorian times).

We've tried calling, emailing & messaging but no response. Have offered to collect items ourselves, more cash for him to deliver out of storage.

The company is supposedly insured, but we're not really sure how to proceed. Thought of negative social media reviews but thought that would be unhelpful.

Also considering claiming in his insurance via details on companies house.

Any other suggestions?

I fear we may have to write this off, but it's just devastating for my mum, who is elderly & in poor health.

Threaten court action, then carry it out. It's called a letter before action, but I suspect they've lost or destroyed the items.

Thanks - I should have said we are in Scotland - I'll check if it's the same law process here.
