Hello everyone! Iām Orla, a final-year student at the University of Bristol. š
As a fellow childcare worker, I am currently working on my dissertation titled "In plain sight: the hidden lives of female migrant domestic care workers" and Iām reaching out for your help: I am trying to connect with individuals who have worked in the domestic industry (such as childcare, housekeeping, and cleaning etc.) after moving to the UK or anyone supporting those in these roles. Your stories and perspectives are invaluable and can help shed light on important issues that often go unnoticed.
If you or someone you know might be interested in participating in a confidential interview answering a few opened ended questions and sharing experiences related to migration, care work, and the challenges faced by domestic workers or mothers please feel free to reach out to me.
Details:
- Interviews can be conducted virtually via online call or in-person (depending on your preference and location) and would last approximately 30 minutes or less working round a time that works for you.
- Any information shared will be totally anonymised throughout and deleted afterwards follow the General Data Protection regulation, meaning you (and your data) are free to drop out at any time without reason.
If this feels like something you or someone you know may be interested in or would like to learn more, please message or email me. Even sharing this message with others would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much for considering to contribute to this meaningful research!
Warm regards,
Orla Rose Powell
