What happens if I drop down a band (nhs)

I was promoted to a band 6 job earlier this year. I have given it 6 months and I hate it, I have spoken to my
line manager several times about the issues I am having but he isn’t bothered. He says s a lot of words but he’s basically saying get on with it. Which I don’t mind doing but I’m not sacrificing my mental health for a job. I think I am going to drop back down to a 5 (I am on a. Secondment so my job is still available), would I be at the top of band 5? I was on the second increment before my promotion (qualified 3 years).

Thanks

You’d go back to the increment you were on before (or if you would have gone up one during that time then you’d move up one).

this is what happened to my partner 18 months ago anyway so assume it’s the same everywhere in the nhs

I think you'd go back to your own pay scale, you are not at the top of band 5 yet but ask hr who will know, does it say anything in your secondment contract
