Every day driving to work I need to drive past 3 mini roundabouts. In the last few months I've noticed that some other drivers are stopping to let those to their left go. I've seen drivers flash their lights as they're approaching and wave those to their left to go. Like you would at a junction if you were letting someone out. Which then confuses people as obviously they shouldn't be going. It also then confuses the drivers on the other side of them as they should be allowing the flashing driver to go but he's stopped waiting for the people on his left to go! And it causes total carnage as now no one wants to go as no one knows what's happening! Today I was behind a car who let out about 8 cars coming from his left while he just sat there waving them on through. (And no his exit wasn't blocked so he wasn't just keeping the way clear. He could get fully across but he just kept waiting for the entire queue of those waiting to go first)
I just feel like more and more people recently are treating mini roundabouts as junctions rather than roundabouts. It's making a busy road even busier with everyone just at a standstill because everyone is confused!
