Is there a good running tracker watch that isn't a smart watch?

I don't want a smart watch for a few reasons.

I want to be able to have strava (or similar) on my wrist when I go for a run.

Can anyone recommend something?

I track my runs on my Fitbit, which syncs to Strava. Not sure if that counts as a smart watch! I don’t get any notifications on it, only use it for steps and exercise tracking.

Try a low spec Garmin, such as the 35.

Turn off all notifications and just use it as a tracker. You can synch to Strava after you've completed your run.

I don't know if you would count this as too smart! You have to have some smartness and GPS in order to track and show on your wrist things like how far you've come and what your pace is. The lower spec versions don't do much more than that; no maps or music, limited range of what sports it can track, and all other phone notifications can be turned off.

I think a Polar would fit your brief - you can have it sync to your phone but the default is not to.

I used to have a Moov which has no screen but tracks all sorts of sports including running. Can’t remember if it syncs to strava though. It looks like they still sell them. You wear it on your ankle for running and can use it with headphones if you want tips on pace etc welcome.moov.cc/moovnow/specs

I have Garmin that's permanently in airplane mode apart from when I chose to sync it with my phone. It's effectively a watch with GPS. I can't stand notifications on my wrist and don't want anyone following me. However, it finds the satellites faster if it's recently synced and the location is more reliable if it's using phone signal as well as gps.
