What if the shoe had fit someone else?

I mean it's statistically likely unless Cinders has really odd feet. Even made to measure, they'd have fit on someone.

Of course in the Disney version she'd be beautiful but evil / conniving. Her and her family would lie and say it was her,but the other slipper broke etc. He'd pretend to recognise her cos he'd feel a fool or would admit doubt and she'd cry so he'd retract it. Before it was too late Cinders would somehow uncover the lie, present the shoe and he'd actually recognise her and all would be well.

Or perhaps he'd marry the evil future Queen, and at some point Cinders would come into her employ and the King would fall in love with the maid (Cinders), the Queen would find out and plot to kill her but of course would fail etc.

Or perhaps the wrong girl is forced to lie by her family even though she's in love with someone else, they marry because the Prince admits he can't really remember and they go on eventually to be happy and provide a couple of kids. Meanwhile Cinders StepMom eventually does but not before marrying off the sisters to some old dudes with money who are too dodgy to get nice wives. The will, which the step mother forgot to change, leaves it all to Cinders after her SMs death and she gets a load of abandoned animals and turns her house into an animal rehab / petting zoo. One day the King visits, sees her and recognises her. He can't say anything as his wife is there with the kids. Then the farm hand comes out and whisks Cinders up and plants a kiss on her lips. He realises they've both found happiness and theirs was never true love after all. The end.

What do you reckon happened after someone else fitted the shoe on?

Then Cinderella had a lucky escape from a life with a bloke whose only interest in her was his foot fetish.

She meets a lad working as a delivery boy for the grocery and they elope in the dead of night, far away from vindictive step families and shallow royalty.

I've often wondered this and wondered if Cinderella had an unusually formed foot.

There are versions of cinderella dating way to back to ancient Egypt (rhodopis) where a bird drops a shoe into the pharoes lap, and its a beautiful shoe made to fit a beautiful foot.

Then in the original french or German version of cinderella, the evil stepsisters actually cut off their toes to try and make the shoe fit, fortunately the excessive blood sloshing out of the shoe foils their dastardly plan. Then the step mother has her eyes picked out by doves (and they all live happily ever after).

Then in psychoanalysis some belive that the shoe is a metaphor for vagina and the whole foot is just phallic imagery (in which case the prince would have been very busy seeing which "shoe" fitted so perfectly.

Most fairy tales are actually awful stories polished up to be fun listening for children.

It perpetuates the myth that women are only happy/complete once they meet their 'Prince Charming'

She should ditch the shoes and the crappy family and focus on herself.

In one of Terry Pratchett's books one of the witches (I think nanny Ogg) quickly puts on the shoe and points out it fits her, so the Prince should marry her not the young victim 😁

The Prince isn't so keen...
