Visiting Nottingham

Planning to take an elderly relative to Nottingham to visit an old friend of theirs for one day

I Would like to stay a few days because of the distance as it will be only me driving

If the weather is ok, we can amuse ourselves with a few short walks , but if it's wet what can we do ?

Are the caves still open? I thought they closed when the Broad Marsh did.

We went to The Workhouse at Southwell and where the chap I look after likes his lunch at 12.30pm we were so engrossed before we knew it it was 2.45pm and we hadn't even thought about lunch. Fascinating and very sad.
