Coldplay tickets

We have the option of either trying for both dates in Hull or the sat in London.
DH & I have both signed up to presale but not sure what's going to best to try for. Mathematically I guess the odds are better for London as 50% of Hull are going to local residents.
I'm honestly spending too much time thinking about this. Mainly because my DD would love to go.
Anyone else going to try for them?

Sat in queue for over 3 hours this morning and still got nowhere despite them releasing two more dates. Might not be able to do it tomorrow as I’m working but I really want to go!
Fingers crossed everyone 🤞🏽

@Khowson93 try for the less popular days such as weds/tues if you can

I'm sure Ticketbastard are doing something to drive up demand/prices. It never used to be this hard to get stadium tickets.
We saw Coldplay at Shepherds Bush Empire a couple of years ago and it was easier to get tickets for that!

I have a HU postcode and can't even get in the waiting room, it keeps saying it's my internet connection but it's on both mobile and WiFi it's doing it

WhatICallMyUsername · 26/09/2024 17:54

I have managed to get in the waiting room on the website rather than app

All these threads about tickets for large venues make me believe even more that such sales methods should be outlawed. Ballot, fixed prices, reasonable application window, instead.

@hby9628 my 11 year old has coldplay concert as her bucket list concert. So I have ordered the new album for resale codes. I am also having the dilemma over which venue.

Hull is more local for us and the dates are week nights so potentially less attractive as Wembley has Friday and Saturday dates.

I don't know about this, but usually when they say you need to order the album for presale, you don't, you just need to sign up to the mailing list.
Might be help for next time.

The last time I got Coldplay tickets (for Aug 2022, at Wembley) it was nowhere near this difficult. I think there were 22k in the queue in front and I got reasonably priced tickets in 40 min. Yesterday I was online most of the day....to not get any!

Are more people wanting to go to concerts or is there a big rise in AI or bots hoovering up all the tickets?

beguilingeyes · 27/09/2024 08:46

It is starting to feel vaguely sinister. Taylor was kind of understandable, but Oasis and now this? For something that big. You always used to be able to get returns on the day too...now everything is online they've made it impossible.

Nonamenoplacetogo · 27/09/2024 09:22

I agree, have seen Coldplay many times, got tickets relatively easily. Now in queue with 98.000 people ahead of me, I cannot spend all day waiting in a queue to find out only £££ are left. So disappointing

Fizbosshoes · 27/09/2024 10:08

I've given up. DD got to "only" 19k in the queue within 10 min ...which was hopeful....but it warned that only "enhanced experiences" were likely to be available eg all vaguely affordable tickets had sold out
It was so much easier 2 years ago

ThisBlueCrab · 27/09/2024 10:21

I got to tickets at hull and all sold out but then you have to join the back of the queue for any other date.

The process is awful!

marriednotdead · 27/09/2024 21:22

After yesterday I wasn’t optimistic but I picked a Sunday and joined the waitlist at 8.45 this morning. 25k in the queue which was a great improvement on yesterday’s 70k. Got to the front just after 11am, tried to get two tickets and it kept saying no availability for even the restricted viewing option. Decided to just keep refreshing the seating option and after about 5 minutes I got them! Didn’t care where, just checked out as fast as I could. So bloody stressful but so happy.

seeminglyranch · 28/09/2024 01:11

After the massively inflated resale prices for Taylor Swift etc a lot of people just buy tickets now to make a quick sale.

we really need legislative reform to stop tickets being resold at anything above face value plus fees. Otherwise we are lining the pockets of scalpers (many living overseas) and many fans miss out.

I was lucky in Wembley presale and didn’t have too many people in front of me but when I searched for 6 the options were still poor. I hate not being allowed to select my own seats but guess I should be grateful we got anything.
