Mash with cheese and baked beans mixed in, scrambled egg, pieces of wholemeal bread with hummus, cooled stewed apple (chop up and cook in microwave with a bit of water ). Mushy foods really !

I found the book 'How to wean your baby' very useful at giving me confidence though I didn't follow it religiously.

Lots of people share their solids journey on Instagram. I like scrummy tummies.

Solid starts app is great for showing you how to prepare food safely.

I'd recommend looking up the difference between gagging and choking. I found this very reassuring.

Finally , First Steps Nutrition is a brilliant website.

I second the solid starts app! I’ve also used Wean in 15 and What Mummy Makes,

I tend to give my little one simplified versions of what I have. I don’t use salt in my cooking if I plan to give it to her. So today I’m having roast chicken for dinner, which will be her lunch tomorrow. Then tomorrow, we’re having salmon in sauce, but I’ll keep one fillet aside for her tomorrow. Plus she’ll have whatever veg I’m eating.

The baby can literally eat what you eat minus any added salt, spiciness or honey. Just take their portion out first before seasoning.

Spag bol, cottage pie, pizza... literally whatever you're having.

There's very few meals I can think of that a baby can't also eat
