What colour bath mats do you have?

I love my white, fluffy bath sheets. But I am finding my white bath mats are getting FILTHY after just one use (disabled DC probably the culprit with his enthusiasm for water splashing etc)

What colour are your bath mats? They seem to constantly be soaked and not drying properly, and looking grubby. Hand towels and bath towels all white and they’re fine

We have lots of bath mats (and an extensive number of matching towels as well) and use them to add colour to the bathrooms.

Lots of white (of course) plus a couple of black, grey, some blue/white stripped, multicolour and our favourites which are vivid orange.

Because of the amount, storage took some serious thinking about!😆

@Fortesque But a bathmat and a towel used as a bathmat are the same thing! There's no law to say it has to be sat there on the floor when you're not using it, ours goes on a towel rail tucked away behind the door.

I suppose if he prefers washing and drying endless towels to whatever he finds objectionable about a bathmat then it's up to him.

We have an orange one from Ikea. I don't know why it's that colour, it was probably because it was in the sale.

We don't have white anything (towels, sheets, bathmats, clothes) because I CBA with the maintenance and prefer something a bit more cheery.

Earlier this year we went on holiday a couple of weeks after I'd dyed my hair and I had to dry it on a beach towel because even though it had been washed a few times, it was still staining the white towels.

Various colours, I’m not fussy 🤗

Mine are white, but maybe a bath stone mat would work much better for you with your child's splashing. My mum has one and they're amazing. As soon as my mats need replacing I'm getting one.

I was just about to recommend a stone bath mat. They are so good and you can just wipe them clean.

Mine are the thick Egyptian cotton type and they are dark grey.

I stopped buying those noodle type bath mats years ago as they seem to wreck the washing machine as they're so heavy.

You can get ultra heavy weight towel type mats that don't wrinkle up. Wash really well too.

Userinneedoftea · 27/08/2024 20:05

I used to gave a Cork one that was great.
I don't have any now as only have showers and they're bug enough to dry down before you get out.

Allthehorsesintheworld · 27/08/2024 20:08

Black looks nice with white towels.
I've also got white, orange, green and there’s one with a picture on it somewhere.

Uhoh, the next mn discussion. In case you wondered where he was.

MrsMitford3 · 27/08/2024 20:11

white. only ever white because they wash/bleach so well.
just have a couple so one is always ready and one being washed.
Hanging out on washing line in the summer is a bonus

nothing too carpet-like as wet carpet in a loo is horrible

Ilovelurchers · 27/08/2024 20:26

Dark green. My mom has terracotta ones .

Irridescantshimmmer · 27/08/2024 20:36

Clear/ transparent with yellow ducks on it. I got it from Wilko's a few years before it closed.

That's... a bath mat but you just have lots of them.

That's what we have - white cotton bath mats like the ones you get in hotels. They are cheap, quick to wash and dry and easy to store.

Mossstitch · 27/08/2024 21:22

Deep pink in my ensuite to match my towels and blind in my bedroom (can you tell first time I had all female zone😌). Dark grey in main bathroom that my sons use.

CanYouHearThatNoise · 27/08/2024 21:26

I've got 3, all from Asda -

Blue
Teal
Blue and white patterned

Makelikeatreeandleaf · 27/08/2024 21:30

I have matching hand towel and bath mat. I've got teal, green, grey, pink. Our bath towels are totally different and we each have different colours.

longdistanceclaraclara · 27/08/2024 21:31

Min are teal. We had duckboards
For a while but they were just pointless.

CrushingOnRubies · 27/08/2024 22:05

Dark blue that fades to pale blue/white
