Council property

I have heard people refer to council housing as social housing so I just wondered is the term Council housing outdated

In my area single people can bid on studios and 1 beds

Hi all so I'm new here. Please play nice, am neurodivergent
Anyways, I've been bidding on council properties which I'm relatively new to.
I've recently bid on some with bradford homes.
Anyhow, long story short last 3 days some bids now say "pending" and usually I just get "bid unsuccessful" or the que position. Can anyone help me please? It's a housing association I've gone for, so I'm a bit confused 😕 should I get excited? I've been waiting a few years now
