Home alone for once, and treating myself later. What should I get?

If you have a big appetite then I would suggest going for two curries and a naan. That way you're filling up on the yummy stuff not just bland chips and rice

LividSummers · 09/08/2024 16:42

The curry is the least interesting bit for me.

I'm all about the peshwari naan, onion bhajis, pickles, popadoms...

maplemaplesyrup · 09/08/2024 16:43

I like a tandoori chicken or tandoori salmon starter, chicken patia or saag paneer, coconut or pilau rice and/or a peshwari naan

Jamdani Hash curry - it's immense.

Aright Ness?

onion bhaji, achaari chicken if they do it, or chicken Karahi, or garlic chilli chicken tikka masala, or something from their “specials”, then for sides maybe mushroom or saag bhaji , garlic naan, and twice as many poppadoms as you think you want. I don’t bother with rice as it means I can’t eat as much curry 😂 lemon rice is lovely though if they do it.

don’t be afraid to order a couple of mains - we tend to order 3 mains between 2 of us, have a bit of everything, then freeze the rest. It always reheats nicely and is a proper quick treat meal.

Plimsoll73 · 09/08/2024 16:47

Two poppadums, lamb jalfrazi, pilau rice, peshwari naan. Maybe brinjal bhaji on the side if I am very hungry. Never normally have starters as I feel poppadums are a start but if I was having one it would be aloo tikki.

Jammy135 · 09/08/2024 16:48

Chicken bhuna, lamb bhuna, prawn bhuna, mushroom rice, bag of chips, keema naan and 9 poppadoms.

I'll have a Saag Aloo as well please Mick...

AzureSheep · 09/08/2024 16:48

StormingNorman · 09/08/2024 16:49

Jamdani Hash curry - it's immense.

And eat it with your hands (and not put it in the middle for everyone to, you know, have a bit) 😂

Waterboatlass · 09/08/2024 16:51

One of everything.

Or palak panir, tarka daal, paratha

Onion Bhaji, chicken shashlick, pilau rice, brinjal Bhaji, garlic naan and poppadoms, mango chutney and raita 😁

bryceQ · 09/08/2024 16:53

I love black daal and garlic naan

MissingMoominMamma · 09/08/2024 16:54

Chicken tikka biryani, garlic naan. 👌

MrsSkylerWhite · 09/08/2024 16:54

Lots of officiants in one place.

Hope you don’t mind if I hop in with a question, OP?

Several years ago I took our kids to a lovely restaurant in Watford. They weren’t overly adventurous then so stuck to poppadoms and condiments as starters. One of the condiments was a very finely grated carrot and coconut based mixture (with some caraway, I think) was the most delicious thing! Never had it before or since. Can’t remember what it was called. Does anyone know?

HappyMaltesers · 09/08/2024 16:55

Never mind the main courses, just get all the starters... they're the best part anyway!!

MrsSkylerWhite · 09/08/2024 16:55

Aficionados. What even are officiants? 😁

LimesOfBronze · 09/08/2024 16:57

Butter chicken, saag paneer, garlic naan, couple of poppadoms.

My husband is veggie so I long for a day when he’s out for the evening so I can get a Chinese takeaway and live on the leftovers for a week!

Baneofmyexistence · 09/08/2024 16:59

I came here looking for the Gavin and Stacey quotes 😂.

But since you asked, my local does a brilliant chicken tikka naan wrap thing so always get that with a curry sauce to dip it in, onion bhajis and poppadoms. My tea is going to be so disappointing now!

mickandrorty · 09/08/2024 17:02

bbq lamb ribs
garlic chilli king prawn
mushroom rice
aloo chilli paratha

TheHistorian · 09/08/2024 17:04

Chicken methi and a veggie side dish like cauliflower bhaji. Make your own rice. Bottle of ice cold Cobra , few poppadoms and mint sauce😋

MojoJojo71 · 09/08/2024 17:05

Poppadoms and pickles
onion Bhaji
saag aloo
king prawn jalfrezi
mushroom pilau
peshwari naan

LadyGabriella · 09/08/2024 17:06

Peshwari naan.

Catterbat · 09/08/2024 17:09

Sikh kebabs with mint sauce, chicken karahi (hot), pilau rice and 2 chapattis. Maybe a couple of keema samosas for breakfast.
