“Three men were arrested in York Wednesday night on suspicion of conspiracy to commit violent disorder.
The men, one aged 19 and two aged 22, were also alleged to be in possession of offensive weapons.
The arrests came during Wednesday evening when a far right protest was rumoured to be coming to York.
Police say their swift action stopped any outbreak of violence.”
Bloody hell…I was just in the city centre, I thought York somehow bypassed the rioting as it has been very quiet. I’m not white, by the way, although I was born here I know I would be viewed as an ‘outsider’. It’s really scary to be non-white right now, I don’t even feel like leaving the house until this blows over…but even then, I know these kinds of violent racists are lurking about. It’s awful.
I was walking behind a woman in a head covering, I was legitimately worried for her. If anyone started anything I’m the type that would get involved, but I’m only 5’ and not much use against armed thugs, and they’d go for me as well 😣 Thank god the police were on it.
