A number of people became unwell after a lady opened her bag near them. I hope and pray this isn’t what it appears to be.

Another update re: the incident. It would appear it wasn’t an intentional attempt to hurt anyone.

20 emergency vehicles, personnel in hazmat suits, people struggling to breathe being stripped and hosed down but photos show members of the public just standing casually watching it all unfold. Bizarre.

Could have been lots of things. A decomposing animal?
Really rancid cheese?
Perming solution? ( does this still exist?)
Lots of liquids such as ammonia or caustic soda but difficult to carry in a plastic carrier bag.

Yes you're right, it feels like there must be a press blackout on this because I can't imagine those involved told noone else
