Don’t try to clean your air fryer this way

I have a ninja foodi. I watched a YouTube tutorial that don’t told me to steam hot water and lemon in it to clean the fan. The only difference was I used washing up liquid. It has now broken

☹️. I’d add never clean a dishwasher by running it with bleach. Who knew bleach could foam up quite so much.

The AF will get so hot there’s no need to clean it - anything unpleasant will just get burned off. You don’t clean the element or fan in your ovens, do you?

wrt to bleach in the dishwasher - it’s a nightmare 🤣🤣 and washing up liquid does the same 😬

It didn’t foam up and boil over or anything. I’m sure it was the condensation that got inside the lid that broke it

You only need to wipe the element with a cloth wrung out in hot soapy water (when unplugged!) if you do it each time it doesn't need any extra cleaning. Aside from washing the drawer/basket part that is of course.

@182blink I saw similar advice for air fryers. But yes there is no washing up liquid involved…. 😢😢
