I’m the same @Hepzibar. Four is my natural spot. I play different starter words these days. Always used the same one before.

But I got a three today so I’m happy! I’ve accepted I’ll never close the gap between 3 and 4. But always happy to get that elusive three.

Wordle bot recommend crane as the best starter word but that hasn't helped my stats at all

Agree, it is only cos we are such dedicated wordlers that a 5 or 6 looks “bad” - I figured the puzzle was always set so that 4 was the “par” and anything else was a mixture of luck and judgement!

Like @Peridot1 i have given up on my 3s ever beating my 4s (currently 4s about 70 ahead!) but @AutumnNymph and I have v similar streaks of 550+ and I’m proud to have gone that long without an X

I switched starter word after my one came up, and I stick to the same word every day now because I’d be so annoyed if it came up and I hadn’t used it.

I’ve got more 3s than 5s, so I reckon I’m doing OK.
