Ds is 17 he gos out skating late at night 12am./2am

Apprently it's quite common because the roads and paths are empty so they can skate with no worries

And Apprently there's big meet ups in a park in central London.

Is this actually a thing ?

does he go to school the next day?

Yep. It's a whole new subculture.
From what I can tell they aren't drinking, smoking etc just skating.

Ah ok see. Yes that's very true. And it's nice he's found something positive to do.

I spent my teenage years skating and loved it, although granted it was mostly at the rink or on the streets when it was quiet. I think it's GREAT it's coming back into vogue. My only concern would be anti social behaviour. I get using empty carparks etc but residential streets at 12-2 is a no no

Why would it be a no no in residential streets? Would it be very noisy ? My understanding is they go on main roads not side streets. Although I should imagine ds may skate on a side street to get home. I'm not sure

Was meant to add its definitely a nice thing to see teenager skating and not board hanging on the streets

Yes. I've seen videos of massive groups of skaters going around London lately. This is prime skating season

longdistanceclaraclara · 28/06/2024 09:18

Definitley a thing, there were loads around London Bridge last night

LakeTiticaca · 28/06/2024 09:21

Well it's better than gangs of youths terrorising neighbourhoods with anti social behaviour!!
