Genuine question, what do people find odd or daft about purple? It was very straightforward to me, and in the same style as lots of other connections we've seen before.

I didn't get yesterday's at all! I managed one line and I was one away from a second line.

I'm new to Connections, though.

Personally I don't look for that kind of connection as you can do a version of that with any word. Most are ridiculous, imagine if the whole thing was connections like that?

Made a silly mistake on green but actually got purple first & didn't put it in cos it seemed a bit too silly lol.

It Could Happen To You is also a cute movie (lovely Bridget Fonda! She was great in Singles). I do highly recommend That Thing You Do, it’s great.

I only just realised I’d put my Strands and not my Connections result!

@happinessischocolate I wouldn't see a problem with a whole puzzle of connections like that. I don't see it as any more arbitrary than a connection like "famous bands of the 80s" or "synonyms for X" where they have hundreds of options to choose from.

I agree that the purple connection is fine. In Only Connect this type of connection is very common. I’m not very good at spotting them, but that’s my problem.

And at least the purple one actually works for everyone reading, unlike the questionable accent one last week or the niche Americanisms.

@ClonedSquare maybe it just depends on how your brain works. Purple is often about words as a series of letters or part of a longer phrase, rather than meanings . I can normally spot the ones that are names .
