What do you think makes an ordinary looking woman attractive?

I've obviously been clicking on the wrong things because my FB feed is full of "do these three things to attract a man".

Mostly they seem completely bonkers, things like wear red.

It's made me think though. Obviously ordinary women do attract men, what kinds of things make them (us?) stand out enough to draw him to her?

I'm not really looking for hints 🤣 but I'm quite interested in the psycology of it all.

Do you want to know what makes woman attractive to men or to other women?

Men: slim, round boobs and but, relatively natural and not too short hair, natural make up and nails, clothes that fit and are quite classic, washed in last three days, smiling and nodding. Youthfull look.

If man is part of certain subculture he may like more specific "look", but above would not turn off any man.

How do you know this?

Confidence can go a long way.

If there's someone in particular you're trying to attract eye contact can be drastically underrated. Maintaining eye contact (not to a psycho degree!) can be very powerful.

Any media aimed at male audience will have women that fall within what I described.
From movies to magazines to porn.

As I wrote, some men may have different preferences but this works for majority so it is present in materials aimed for male consumption.

I was asking about what makes ordinary looking women attractive though. So things other than looks? Most women do end up married/with partners, if they want them, so there must be something?

A big smile

A genuine smile makes anybody look attractive in my opinion.

Interesting, I'm often told by men and women I have a lovely smile, it pretty muchbthe only physical compliment I get, but I don't think anyone thinks I'm particularly attractive.

A man actually told me my big smile made his day last week, but he's 20 years younger than me and definitely wasn't flirting 🤣

Confidence, happiness, kindness, being funny, giving of a vibe of being a decent shag, smelling nice.

Basicially, the same things that attract women to average looking men.

Funny, intelligent, articulate. Shared hobbies, interests and values. Same as what women find attractive in ordinary looking men? (Just speculation as I am a woman!)

Confidence I think. And the biggy.... Showing an interest in the man!! Nobody can resist someone who finds them fascinating/interesting

Wit and intelligence are very attractive. Also having an interest she is passionate about. Can be anything , sport , politics, music.

Yes I think smiling.
I don’t know.
Men say they like natural looking, pleasant, intelligent, funny, caring women but I’m not so sure.
I think lots of men like the very fake look.
Fake very white or very black obviously fake hair which has definitely been ‘styled.’
Lots of thick excessive make up. Obviously fake eyelashes and fake lips with lipstick. Piled on make up.
Revealing clothes, either low cut, tight clothes, short skirts, high heels.
And lots of gaudy jewellery!
Yet lots of very ordinary- very slovenly in fact- looking women have partners.
In short who knows!

Are these all the things we think they should be attracted to though or is it true. I'd say I do OK in all of those areas, but men seem to see me as a likable friend much more than they do "attractive"

Either be the cat's pyjamas or make them feel they are, the latter being the easier option.

White teeth
Red lipstick
Clothes that flatter their figure and that they wear with confidence
Long well looked after hair
Nice perfume

Ah, friendzoning. Men are simple creatures, you're probably being too subtle in your hints that you find them attractive. Flirt with them. Men like women who seem like they might sleep with them.

Well dd has a friend and she has literally 100,000s followers on her instagram. Mostly male.
This is not her career btw. Her career is very female focussed. Think female beauty industry.
I would say she looks like a young Katie Price.
She is young.
She has footballers messaging her and is never short of a date, so she is obviously attractive to men.
So I think the cliches are true.

See this is interesting as I don’t know any men who find the type of women you describe to be remotely attractive and prefer natural looking women but that may be the circles I move in.

Your circles are clearly those of better, cleverer, more refined people.

And look at the men Katie Price has attracted throughout her life, hardly princes among men are they?

Or maybe me and my circle are too old and the looking fake as fuck trend is for the younguns.

I’m overweight with short hair and still get chatted up in middle age. I get told I’m pretty, but I’m not beautiful enough to intimidate. I dress well for my size, smile, hold my head up high and make eye contact. I’m a ‘dance like no one’s watching’ type and a music fan. No man would notice me walking down the street but seem to attract them at social and music events. It’s genuine enthusiasm and friendliness. Maybe the men who like me are attracted to low maintenance, not trying too hard types?

My friend is hugely attractive to men and doesn't fit a lot of the usual 'criteria' that people seem to expect.

She is slim though, has very short hair, always looks nice but I wouldn't say particularly polished. She's very warm though and the funniest person I've ever met. Before I worked with her someone described her as having funny bones and I wasn't sure what that meant. She's very successful in her job too.
