Ann Summers in the charity bag

I have been organising a clothes collection to sell for charity. A friend gave me 4 bags. I always go through them first and I found the first contained a lacy red crotchless bodysuit with nipple holes and X marks the spot, a bunny girl outfit with cuffs ears and a velcro pompom tail and a french maid outfit with suspenders and fishnets. I can't take those in, they'll think they're mine! I'm mortified!

What's the big deal? Live a little.

Does make me wonder what stuff they kept......

BresciaBike · 24/04/2024 23:07

Could be worse. Could have been a crusty X.

Just chuck them in the Sally Army clothes bin and donate the rest 😄

Chillilounger · 24/04/2024 23:41

Why are you going through her charity bag? She asked you to just hand it in.

Thevelvelletes · 25/04/2024 05:25

Second hand sex outfits..gads min.

Stigglet · 25/04/2024 05:39

Ew gross. Did it not occur to her that someone might use them for wanking? I’d bin them for that reason alone.

KeinLiebeslied54321 · 25/04/2024 05:49

Most charities won't want used underwear so, now you have been snooping and know they're in there, I'd dump them.

FriendlyNeighbourhoodAccountant · 25/04/2024 05:51

The charity won't want them, so bin them, but why were you looking through it in the first place? You say you always do, but why? The charity is capable of sorting through their own donations I'm not sure as your friend how I'd feel about you sorting through my stuff.

Lurkingandlearning · 25/04/2024 06:23

I don’t see the issue with you checking what is in the bags. Your friend’s intention was for it all to be on public display in order to be sold. I check anything I donate just in case it isn’t clean or is broken and I’d do the same if I was taking things for a friend. Dirt / breaks can be missed and I wouldn’t want to be seen as the person donating dirty rubbish.

I can’t imagine why your friend thought anyone would want to buy her used sex costumes. Just dump it.

Don't be catty to try to be clever!

We have to go through every bag before taking in to check there's nothing inappropriate or generally unsuitable. Having been given rugby boots covered in mud, underwear with a used Bodyform attached and broken bottles in the past, I'm sure you see why.

Lol, have you been here before?

Perhaps if you'd originally mentioned that you have to go through them, as opposed to your 'I always go through them first'......I am perfectly aware that charity shop workers sort through stuff, but you also didn't indicate that you were one of those.

Fair enough. Another contained old underwear and swimming costumes which we can't sell. I'm worried the next one will include a gimp mask.

Yeah, it's shocking what folk donate - I think some folk are just too lazy to sort things properly. I suppose the odd thing might accidentally slip in the wrong bag if someone is sorting out and has a charity bag and a bin bag, especially if they're tired at the time.

Fourleafclovers · 02/06/2024 21:46

list them on eBay. They will sell I’m certain. Best not to dwell on who to and why…
