When a train is cancelled or part of the track isn't passable, then they put on a 'replacement bus service' instead which takes longer and is a hassle.

It is!
often happens on weekends when they are working on the line. A hideous, long bus ride instead of train.
There will be a lot of grumbling 😂

@Sweetpea1532 bus replacement service put terror into any British commuter, I suffered from it when the trams stopped a few weeks ago , a 15 min tram journey = 40 min bus journey. Was lots of grumbling!
