Hairdo like a dead cat

I've seen lots of men with a haircut that just looks like a dead cat plonked on top of their head and shaved. It can't just be where I live surely?

You're absolutely right, I'd forgotten about the lack of socks!

I hate the broccoli but not as much as I hate the 80's mullet and tashe combo that seems to be reappearing amongst the hipster types near my office. Triggering bad memories of 80's shellsuits and stonewashed denim...

My kid had this until we stopped paying for the required weekly touch-ups of the shaved part. It's amazing when *they suddenly have to pay €25 for upkeep!

A lot of those barbers are fronts for dealers so he maybe closer than you think.... I blame the footballers.. look at the youngsters in man city /England..and others just noticed them the other day ..
Although I'm sure they don't pay 25 for their trims..
No claims to better here am in mullet land ..... surely there has to be something better!

I once gave a young man a detention. He told me that he couldn't attend because he was getting a perm. It took me a long time to arrange my face into a serious expression and carry on with the lesson.

He came in the following week with what I will now call "the broccoli". Did the detention in style.

It seems to be a requirement for ds and his friends for their hair to be big and covering of the eyes is a very popular look

quite a few have a tash (I wonder why they bother) and ear piercing has returned

thankfulky the clothes are baggy jeans/trousers and tops I have not seen evidence (yet) of stone wash denim or shell suits but it wouldn’t surprise me if this is next

It's a fad which will be replaced with another fad soon enough. It's been the case since time immemorial. I remember my grandad back in the 60s/early 70s complaining about "long haired louts that need a haircut and a proper job"

Not really a fad. DS was an early adopter 4 sodding years ago. I absolutely hate it, but I'm channeling DM in not interfering with teenage hair. I'll just keep this particular school photo up for oooh 25 years.

The mullet has been back and gone again. I taught some pupils to drive about 2-3 years ago and they all had mullets.

All I could see was boys with a really old fashioned 70s haircut.

It's the straight across, severe fringe coupled with the shaven sides that gets me. Makes it look like an institutional haircut by someone who doesn't care what the outcome is.

I wish it would move on too

Would you prefer a mohawk, mullet or curtains, which is very trendy in Korea right now? I don't see the problem with these styles. It's not as if men have the flexibility within styles the way women do. As far as Boys of school age, uniform criteria dictates what is acceptable.

It’s the Turkish Barber shops. They’re everywhere now.

They can do one style and unfortunately it is truly awful.

No in fairness, they can do lots of styles - you don't see the old geezers coming out looking like this. They are giving the young guys the style they (strangely) want.

I never see 'old geezers' going into the ones local to me.

The wiggy Guinea pig is wonderful and indeed this exact hairstyle.

I've seen a lot of broccoli and worryingly a few curtains around my area.

Curtains remind me of 90s boy band members, usually teamed with baggy trousers and workie boots. Happy days
